Southern Maine Third at Husson Invitational

            ORONO, Maine -- Freshman Aidan Boyce (South Portland, Maine) lead the University of Southern Maine Huskies to a third-place finish at the 2010 Husson University Invitational played at the Penobscot Valley Country Club on Tuesday.

            Boyce finished as the Huskies' low man earning a fifth-place finish by shooting a 6-over-par 78.  Sophomore Josh Hogan (Falmouth, Maine) also turned in a strong performance carding an 80.

            The Husson University Eagles placed first overall winning with a team total of 310.  The University of Maine Farmington was second with a score of 323, followed closely by the Huskies with a 333.

            Husson junior Chris Hamel (Waterville, Maine) birdied the first hole of a sudden-death playoff to receive medalist honor over teammate Mike Hersey.

            Southern Maine returns to action on Saturday (10:00) for the first round of the Bowdoin College Invitational.
