            GORHAM, Maine -- Due to the inclement weather forecast for the local area on Friday (October 1), the 2010 Southern Maine Cup, hosted by the University of Southern Maine at Sable Oaks Golf Club, has been postponed.  The event will be played at a later date to be determined.

            The Southern Maine Cup is a unique event that features pairs of golfers playing six holes of best ball, followed by six holes of scramble format and then six holes of alternate-shot golf.

            Southern Maine's next scheduled event is the University of New England Invitational next Thursday (9:00 a.m.) at Dunegrass Golf Club in Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
