Scott Hutchinson Named Little East Conference Coach of the Year

    GORHAM, Maine – For the fourth straight season, Scott Hutchinson, the head coach of the University of Southern Maine Huskies Men's Outdoor Track and Field team, has been named the Little East Conference Coach of the Year.  The Little East Conference announced its major outdoor track and field awards today.

    In his sixth season with the Huskies, Hutchinson guided his team to its fourth consecutive (fifth overall) Little East Conference championship.  The Huskies' captured five individual titles en route to the 2011 trophy, scoring 175 points and easily outdistancing their nearest competitor UMass Dartmouth (110 points).  Under Hutchinson's leadership, the Huskies have won the Little East Conference crown consecutively since 2008.

    Hutchinson also leads the USM men's cross country and indoor track and field programs.  He was named the LEC men's cross country coach of the year this fall and in 2007 and has earned indoor track and field coach of the year honors three times (2008, 2009, 2010).

Coach of the Year - Scott Hutchinson, University of Southern Maine

Team Sportsmanship Award - Eastern Connecticut State University
