Huskies Finish Season at MIT Last Chance Meet
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Three members of the University of Southern Maine women's track and field team competed Thursday evening at the season-ending MIT Last Chance.
Sophomore Adela Kalilwa (Lewiston, Maine), competing for the first time in four weeks, posted a season-best mark of 11.77 meters (38-7 ½) in the triple jump to finish first. She also had a leap of 5.47 meters (17-11 ½) in the long jump.
Senior Rachel Ingram (Winthrop, Maine) also competed in the triple jump posting a mark of 10.96 meters (36-0 ¼).
Sophomore Jhanel Potts (Boston, Mass./Concord-Carlisle) ran in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. Potts had time of 12.33 seconds in the preliminary round of the 100, and flashed across the finish line in 12.34 in the finals. In the 200, Potts had a time of 25.42.
The NCAA will post the final descending order lists for the 2018 Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday (May 18) at noon for final declarations for the championships to be submitted. The top 22 declared women in each individual event will compete for the national title at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on May 24-26.
