USM Athletic Communications Intern Brooke Cross (also a senior captain of the Huskies' softball team) is bringing back Random Questions With A Husky and bringing back hard-hitting questions like, "What would you do with an elephant?"
Making her second trip the the NCAA Division lll National Championships this past Saturday, junior Adele Kalilwa (Lewiston, Maine) and competed in the triple jump, capping an outstanding 2019 season with a 12th place finish among all D3 competitors.
With numerous highlights on the season, Kalilwa broke her own indoor school record of 11.75 meters in the triple jump, posting a mark of 11.77 meters on March 2. Adele has earned numerous accolades throughout the past three years, and was named the Little East Conference Track & Field Athlete of the Week five times during the 2018-2019 season.
In addition to her outstanding track career, Adele is also a member of the Huskies' women's soccer team. Helping USM to a school-record in wins this season, Adele scored three game winners in 2018. Passionate in everything she does, Kalilwa has made an enormous impact on the field, the track, in the classroom, and as a work study employee for the athletic department. She is reliable and her work ethic is witnessed everyday by the students and student-athletes around campus. Walking around with her head high, Kalilwa has earned the respect of her peers, the faculty and staff at USM, and her competitors.
