Random Questions with a Husky: Men's Track & Field All-American CJ Moody

In a periodic, yet totally random time frame, USM Athletic Communications Intern Brooke Cross (a member of the Huskies' softball team who is averaging 0.016 steals per game in her 125-plus game career (added by her boss), interviews a student-athlete, coach or staff member to get the important questions answered, like, "What's your favorite holiday?" so you can learn more about your peers. 

This edition features CJ Moody - a 2019 Division III All-American in the heptathlon, William B. Wise Scholar Athlete and Nursing major.  


University of Southern Maine Track and Field athlete C.J. Moody has earned numerous awards throughout his four years competing as a Husky. Among his recent accolades Moody received  All-America honors at the 2019 NCAA D3 Indoor Track and Field National Championships, and holds the school record in the heptathlon with 5,004 points scored in March. Along with Moody's long list of athletic honors and awards he has made an impact off the field as well, earning the William B. Wise Scholar athlete award for 2017-2018 and a spot on the LEC All-Academic Team for 2017-2018 and 2018-2019.

Who is your biggest inspiration?

My biggest inspiration is my mom because of the strength and compassion she has always taught me.

 

What's your favorite thing to do in your spare time?

My favorite things to do in my spare time are to go to the movies or gho and get a massage.

 

What's one talent you wish you could perfect?

I'd like to be able to juggle while riding a unicycle, but I should probably learn to juggle or ride a unicycle first.

 

What's your favorite place to go out to eat?

Maiz Colombian Street Food is my favorite place to eat. Everyone needs to try an arepa.

 

What is your favorite day of the week?

My favorite day of the week is Monday because most of the national holidays are on Mondays.  

 

What's do you think is the most interesting sport to watch?

The most interesting sport to watch is basketball because of how fast paced it is.
