Achieving the distinction of American Baseball Coaches’ Association (ABCA) All-American honors in 2004, Tip Fairchild, Class of 2009, had a standout pitching career as a member of the Huskies’ baseball team from 2003-2005, and then as a member of Major League Baseball’s Houston Astros organization.
A two-time New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) All-New England, ECAC Division III New England and All-Little East Conference selection, Fairchild is the Huskies’ career-leader in earned run average (2.62), and is ranked seventh in career strikeouts with 158.
A William B. Wise Scholar-Athlete and a member USM’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Fairchild earned his degree in Business Administration. He is the Director of Business Development for Custom Tailored Manufacturing, LLC. Active within his community, Fairchild has been a board member of The Children’s Workshop Foundation since 2013, and the Boys and Girls Club of Warwick Rhode Island since 2016.
