Phil Gerolstein, Class of 1998. The men’s ice hockey program’s all-time leading scorer at the time he concluded his playing days, Gerolstein finished his career with 28 goals and 44 assists for 77 points. Gerolstein played the first two seasons for coach Gordie Clark after USM reinstated the men’s hockey program (1985) before finishing his career playing for current USM coach Jeff Beaney. He helped the Huskies earn their first ECAC postseason berth in the 1989-90 season when they compiled an 11-8-2, and was the squad’s leading scorer in 1990-91 with 11 goals and 17 assists. Gerolstein earned his bachelor’s in communications. Gerostein has previously coached Youth Ice Hockey and is still playing US Adult Nationals over 40 ice hockey.
