Tucker White Named LEC Co-Player of the Week
GORHAM, Maine -- The Little East Conference office announced today that University of Southern Maine junior Tucker White (Deerfield, N.H./Coe-Brown Northwood) has been named Co-Player of the Week for the week of April 9-15. White shared the weekly honor with junior Conor Bierfeldt of Western Connecticut State University.
In five games last week, White batted .476 (10 for 21) with a triple, two home runs and 12 RBI. He had multiple hits in all five games, and compiled an .857 slugging percentage.
Highlighting his week, White drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Huskies a 6-5 win in the first game of a LEC doubleheader on Saturday against Western Connecticut. In the nightcap, he had a two-run triple and a grand slam home run en route to a seven-RBI game as the Huskies pounded the Colonials 21-7.
On the season, White is hitting a team-leading .410 with 23 runs scored, six doubles, seven triples, five home runs and 35 RBI in 26 games. In addition to leading the team in hitting, he leads the Huskies in triples, home runs and RBI.
The Huskies, 14-12 on the season and 5-2 in the Little East Conference, travel to Yetten Field in Waltham, Mass., on Tuesday (3:30 p.m.) to play the University of Massachusetts Boston in a key LEC game. The Huskies open a six-game home stand against Endicott College on Wednesday (3:30 p.m.).
