AUBURNDALE, Fla. -- The University of Southern Maine Huskies baseball team picked up a pair of wins Tuesday sweeping the Thomas College Terriers in a non-conference doubleheader, 10-1 and 19-12.

In the first game, junior left-hander Logan Carman (Newfields, N.H./Laurel Springs) picked up his fourth win of the season with relief help from freshmen Ryan Browner (Georgetown, Mass.) and Sean Murphy (Westbrook, Maine).  In the nightcap, the Huskies raced out to a 15-1 lead, then held off the Terriers who rallied to get within three (15-12) before the Huskies put the game away with four runs in the sixth inning.

The sweep runs the Huskies winning streak to three games and improves their overall record to 9-3.  The Terriers remain winless after four games.

Carman went four innings allowing four hits, one run and one walk while striking out three.  Browner and Murphy combined for three innings of shutout relief.

Senior John Carey (South Portland, Maine) pace the Huskies' attack going 3 for 4 with two runs scored and an RBI.  Seniors Tucker White (Deerfield, N.H./Coe-Brown Northwood) and Anthony Pisani (Cheshire, Conn./Notre Dame) had two hits apiece.

Senior Cody Vigue (Skowhegan, Maine) was the lone repeat hitter for the Terriers.  Sophomore right-handed pitcher Tim Locke (Waterville, Maine) went 3.2 innings and was tagged with the loss.

In the nightcap, the Huskies pounded out 22 hits against four Terriers hurlers en route to scoring a season high 19 runs.  Senior Nick Grady (Whitefield, Maine/Erskine Academy) led the assault going 4 for 5 with three runs scored and two RBI.  Junior Troy Thibodeau (Danvers, Mass./New Hampton) was 3 for 4 with two doubles, a home run and two RBI.  Thibodeau was also credited with the win on the mound hurling 2.1 shutout innings with three strikeouts.

Down 15-1, the Terriers rallied for four runs in the third, two more in the fourth and four in the fifth inning to close within three runs.  Freshman Dillon Emerson (Concord, N.H.) highlighted the five-run third inning rally with a bases-loaded double that plated three runs.  Senior Thomas Cameron (Jackson, Maine/Searsport) had and RBI single in the fourth, and a two-run single in the fifth.

Grady ignited a four-run outburst in the sixth inning with a solo home run to give the Huskies some insurance.  Thibodeau finished off the rally with a two-run homer.

Vigue and senior Jeff Richardson (Rochester, N.H./Spaulding) had three hits in the second game for the Terriers.  Cameron finished with two hits and three RBI.  Junior left-hander James McLamb (Livermore Falls, Maine) started on the hill and was saddled with the loss.

Southern Maine concludes its nine-game Florida trip on Wednesday (3:30 p.m.) playing 21st-ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.  Thomas continues its Florida swing Wednesday (12:00 p.m.) with a doubleheader against SUNY-Fredonia.
