Westfield State Defeats Southern Maine 2-0

WESTFIELD, Mass.  - Junior midfielder Lauren Tavares (Tiverton, RI) and senior forward Jessi Gould (Canton, Mass.) scored goals to lead Westfield State University Owls to a 2-0 victory over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in Little East Conference field hockey action on Saturday in Westfield, Mass.

Westfield improved to 7-3 overall and 2-3 in the conference after defeating Southern Maine for the first time since 2006. Southern Maine is now 6-6 and 3-2.
