Huskies Travel to Bowdoin Invitational This Weekend

            CASCO, Maine -- The University of Southern Maine golf team made it two for two on Tuesday taking the top spot in the final team standings at the annual John Queenan Memorial tournament hosted by Saint Joseph's College at the Point Sebago Golf Club.

            The Huskies edged out the host Monks for the top spot, 316-318, in the field of nine teams.  The University of New England was third at 327 followed by the Husson University "B" group at 330.

            Junior Greg Kalagias (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) led the Huskies posting a 5-over par 77 to finish in a three-way tie for third place.  Junior Tristan Dundas (Abbotsford, B.C.) carded a 78 to place sixth in the 44-player field.

            Junior Ryan Dee (Houlton, Maine) finished with an 80, and senior captain Shaun McKinnon (Rocky Hill, Conn.) had an 81 to round out USM's four best scores.

            University of New England senior Mike Rich (Boston, Mass.) posted the low score of the day with a 2-over par 74.  SJC senior Cam Letourneau (Hebron, Maine) was runner-up with a 75.  Only eight players in the field were able to break 80 on the day.

            Southern Maine returns to action this weekend (September 8-9) playing in the two-day, 36-hole Bowdoin College Invitational to be played at the Brunswick CC.
