Dundas First-Day Leader at Bowdoin Invitational
BRUNSWICK, Maine -- University of Southern Maine junior Tristan Dundas (Abbotsford, B.C./Sardis Secondary) closed with five consecutive birdies to card a 2-under par 70 to take the first-round lead at the 2018 Bowdoin College Invitational. The two-day, 36-hole event continues Sunday at the Brunswick CC.
Standing 3-over with five holes to play, Dundas caught fire to birdie all five holes and finished 2-under. Dundas holds a one-stroke lead over St. Joseph's College senior Cam Letourneau (Hebron, Maine), and a two-shot lead over University of Maine at Farmington senior Eric Aguiar (Thornton, N.H.).
USM junior Greg Kalagias (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) is in a six-way tie for 12th place after shooting a 76. Junior Ryan Dee (Houlton, Maine) came home with an 80, and junior Brendan Croteau (Lewiston, Maine) and senior Shaun McKinnon (Rocky Hill, Conn.) each shot an 82.
Saint Anselm College is the leader among the 12 teams competing with a score of 303. Endicott College is one stroke back at 304, and USM is in third at 308. There is a four-way tie for fourth place at 309.
Final round play gets underway Sunday morning (9:30 a.m.).
