Dundas, Morin Tie for Low Medalist
MANCHESTER, Maine -- University of Southern Maine seniors Tristan Dundas (Abbotsford, B.C.) and Kyle Morin (Lewiston, Maine) shared the low medalist honor carding 5-over par 75's Thursday as the Huskies won their fifth straight event topping eight other teams at the MMA Mariner Invitational. The event was played at the Augusta CC.
Southern Maine compiled a four-man aggregate score of 308 to edge the University of New England by four shots for the top spot. Thomas College placed third in the nine-team field with a 318. Saint Joseph's College (Me.) at 323 and host Maine Maritime Academy at 330 round out the top five.
Joining Dundas and Morin in USM's four-man score were classmates Ryan Dee (Houlton, Maine) and Greg Kalagias (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy). Dee turned in an 8-over par 78 to finish in a tie for seventh place. Kalagias posted an 80 to finish in a three-way tie for 13th place.
Senior Parker Sanderson (Bangor, Maine) finished in a five-way tie for 24th place with an 84.
The Huskies will host the annual USM Fall Classic, a 36-hole tournament, this Sunday (10 a.m.) and Monday (10 a.m.) at the Gorham CC.
