Croteau Leads USM After Day One at NEIGADiv. III Championship
BREWSTER, Mass. -- Senior Brendon Croteau (Lewiston, Mass.) carded a 12-over par 84 to pace the University of Southern Maine golf team's play during the first day at the 85th Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA ) Division III Championship at The Captains Course.
Led by Croteau, the Huskies are in a tie for 17th place with Wentworth Institute of Technology after the first day of play with four-man aggregate scores of 341. Babson College leads the field of 22 teams with a score of 3-over par 291. Johnson and Wales University is 10 strokes back at 301.
Croteau is in a 10-way tie for 57th place among the field of 114 golfers. One stroke behind Croteau in a tie for 67th place after posting scores of 85 are seniors Kyle Morin (Lewiston, Maine and Parker Sanderson (Bangor, Maine). Classmate Ryan Dee (Houlton, Maine) is another two strokes back in a tie for 83rd place after posting an 87. Sophomore Jacob Currie (Lebanon, Maine/Noble) finished with an 88.
The final round of the 36-hole event will take place Monday (8:30 a.m.) and conclude the fall portion of USM's fall season.
