A four-year captain of the University of Southern Maine men's basketball team, Mike Poulin returns to his alma mater as an assistant coach for the 2016-2017 season.  

A standout on the court and in the classroom, Poulin graduated from USM with a pair of undergraduate degrees earning a bachelor of arts in criminology in 2012 and a bachelor of science in business administration in 2013. Poulin earned both degrees with academic distinction, graduating cum laude. 

A three-time All-Little East Conference Academic Team selection, Poulin was a five-time William B. Wise Scholar-Athlete and was chosen as the USM Athletic Department's Roland Wirths Memorial Award winner in 2013.  Despite an injury plague career, Poulin totaled 504 points, 253 rebounds, 198 assists and 91 steals. 

Pursuing his Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) at Southern New Hampshire University, Poulin is a Sales Representative with W.B. Mason.  He has remained active in the sport of basketball since his graduation from Southern Maine, and has served as a commisioner at the Maine Gold Rush Basketball Camp since 2004.
