SALEM, Mass. -- Sophomore goaltender Anthony D'Aloisio (Frisco, Texas) stopped 22 shots as the visiting University of Southern Maine Huskies skated to a 1-1 overtime tie with the Salem State University Vikings in a non-conference men's ice hockey game Tuesday evening at Rockett Arena.

The tie leaves the Huskies with a 1-5-2 overall record.  The Vikings are now 2-5-1 overall.  The game was rescheduled from November 20 due to weather.

The Huskies grabbed a 1-0 lead in the final minute of the first period when senior Tyler Mathieu (Stillwater Lake, Nova Scotia) beat Salem State rookie goaltender Sean Cleary (Barnstable, Mass.) for a power-play goal.  Freshman Michael Green (Baie d'Urfã, Quebec) and sophomore Maverick Lynes (Sherwood Park, Alberta) were credited with the assists.  The goal was the third of the season for Mathieu.

After a scoreless second period, Salem State senior Jimmy Currier (Middleton, Mass.) scored the tying goal.  The Vikings needed just 17 seconds to convert on the power play at 1:43.  Rookie Billy McGwin (Rochester, N.Y.) and junior Callum Hofford (Woodbridge, Ont.) picked up the assists.

Southern Maine finished the game with a 25-23 edge in shots on goal, including a 5-2 advantage in the five-minute overtime period.  Cleary made 24 saves for Salem State.

The Huskies hit the road this weekend to play at New England College on Friday and Saint Anselm College on Saturday.  Salem State travels to Framingham State University on Saturday.
