Gardiner Receives NEHC Weekly Honor Roll Citation
GORHAM, Maine -- The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced its tenth set of weekly honors Monday with University of Southern Maine rookie forward Tyler Gardiner (Watertown, Mass.) earning a spot on the honor roll. The weekly citation is the first of Gardiner's collegiate career.
In three games last week, Gardiner had two goals and two assists for a four-point week. In the Huskies' 4-4 tie at in-state foe Bowdoin College on Tuesday, Gardiner scored his first collegiate goal and had an assist. On Friday in the Huskies' 3-2 win on the road at Suffolk University, Gardiner broke a 2-2 tie with his goal in the third period, and he had the lone assist on senior Parker Sanderson's (Bangor, Maine) second-period marker.
With the four-point week, Gardiner now has two goals and three assists for five points in 12 games.
Southern Maine, 3-13-3 overall and 3-9-1 in NEHC play, entertains Skidmore College on Friday (7 p.m.) at the USM Ice Arena.
