Hassoon and Mohamed to Represent Southern Maine in NEISL Senior All-Star Game

GORHAM, Maine  -  Seniors Qutaiba "Q" Hassoon (Portland, Maine/Deering) and MK Mohamed (Lewiston, Maine) have been selected to participate in the 2017 New England Intercollegiate Soccer League (NEISL) Division III Senior All-Star Game on November 26 (1:00 pm) at Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass.

"This is a tremendous honor for both Q and MK," said USM veteran men's soccer Mike Keller.  "Both of these young men have shown dedication, commitment and a strong work ethic during their careers and will represent our team and the University of Southern Maine well. Both MK and Q played with a team-first attitude during their careers and were willing to make contributions where needed, and demonstrated exceptional work-rates.  They are both very deserving of this honor.

A three-year member of the Huskies' squad after transferring to Southern Maine from UMaine Machias, Mohamed played in 46 games for USM, starting 37, primarily as a defensive back.  He has a goal and an assist to his credit. He is earning his degree in Marketing.

A four-year member of the Southern Maine men's soccer program, Hassoon is a three-time William B. Wise Scholar Athlete and is progressing towards his degree in Accounting.  Playing in 70 games, and starting 45, Hassoon has led the Huskies from the midfield.  He has one goal and five assists in his career, scoring his first intercollegiate goal in a 3-1 Little East Conference win over UMass Dartmouth this season.
