Rogers Wins 100 Dash at Yellow Jacket Invitational
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- University of Southern Maine senior Trey Rogers (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) won the 100-meters dash Saturday to highlight the Huskies performance at the 8th Annual Yellow Jacket Invitational held at American International College. The meet as a non-team-scoring event
Rogers posted a winning time of 11.29 seconds in the 100 meters. He also finished fourth in the 200 meters with a time of 22.73 seconds and met the qualifying standard for the New England Division III Championships.
Junior Drew Gamage (Sabattus, Maine/Oak Hill) had the Huskies lone runner-up finish in the high jump (1.85m/6-0 ¾).
Sophomore Donivyn Harms (Westbrook, Maine/Rochelle (Ill.) Township) took third in the 400 meters (51.29) and sixth in the 200 meters (22.88). Harms' time in the 200 met the qualifying standard for the New England Division III Championships.
Among the other USM competitors earning top five finishes were sophomore Jack Ricker (Conway, N.H./Kennett) who finished third in the high jump (1.80m/5-10 ¾), freshman Antoine Grace (Queensbury, N.Y.) was fifth in the 100 meters (11.45), sophomore Cam Labrie (Tamworth, N.H./Kennett) took fifth in the 400 (51-87) and sophomore Nick Harriman (Lisbon, Maine) placed fifth in the 5,000 meters (15:49.24).
Southern Maine travels to the University of New Hampshire next Saturday.
