GORHAM, Maine -- The Little East Conference announced today that University of Southern Maine sophomore men's track and field standouts Ben Musese (Lewiston, Maine) and Zach Hoyle (Sidney, Maine/Messalonskee) have been selected for weekly honors for their performances at the Little East Conference Outdoor Championships this past weekend.
Musese was picked as the Field Athlete of the Week for the first time in his two-year career. Hoyle was selected as the Track Athlete of the Week for the third time this season.
Competing in the triple jump, Musese provided the Huskies with one of their six first-place finishes taking the top spot on the podium after posting a career-best jump of 14.35 meters (47-1). Musese's mark moved him up to second in the latest New England Division III rankings, and 18th nationally.
On the track, Hoyle took first place in the 1500 meters with his time of 4:10.18, and was runner-up in the 800 meters crossing the finish line in 1:55.56.
