GORHAM, Maine – Senior guard Alexa Srolovitz (Montreal, Quebec/New Hampton School (NH)) of University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's basketball team has been named the Maine Womnen's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, November 18. Freshman Victoria Harris (Lewiston, Maine), last week's MWBCA and New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Rookie of the Week, earned an honor roll mention by the MWBCA this week.
In Southern Maine's only action of the week, Srolovitz led the Huskies to a 65-58 win over in-state rival University of New England. Shooting an outstanding 10-for-18 from the field, including three three-pointers, the 5-6 guard scored a career-high 26 points. Playing all 40 minutes of the contest, Srolovitz added three rebounds, and a steal in the win, to help Southern Maine to a 3-0 start early in the season.
The 2018 Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Year, Srolovitz is off to a strong start in her senior season shooting 50.0 percent (17-for-34) from the field and 33.3 percent from three-point range. She is averaging 14.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game.

A 5-10 center, Harris has continued to play well early in her collegiate career earning honor roll status in her second week as a Husky. Against UNE, Harris had a neat six-point, nine-rebound performance shooting 3-for-6 from the field in 14 minutes of action. Harris added solid defense for the Huskies in their victory over the Nor'easters, blocking three shots and coming up with three steals.
Southern Maine is off until Sunday and will host nationally-ranked St. Joseph's College (Maine) at 5:30 p.m.
