GORHAM, Maine – Junior Jackie Luckhardt (Londonderry, N.H.) and freshman Victoria Harris (Altus, Okla./Lewiston) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's basketball team have each earned honor roll recognition from the Maine Womens' Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) after their outstanding play in the Huskies 48-40 win over Keene State College in their lone game of the week.
Earning honor roll recognition for the fourth time this season, Harris has continued to provide the Huskies with outstanding play off of the bench. In Southern Maine's LEC win over the Owls, Harris was 2-for-3 from the field for six points, and added four rebounds and two steals in just 10 minutes of action. The Huskies 6-0 center is averaging 7.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.3 blocked shots and 1.0 steals per game while shooting a team-best 56.9 percent from the field. Harris has career highs of 13 points (Thomas; November 10); nine rebounds (University of New England; November 14); four blocked shots (UMass Dartmouth; November 28); and three steals (University of New England; November 14). Harris has also earned MWBCA Rookie of the Week and New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Rookie of the Week honors this season.
Collecting her first collegiate double-double, Luckhardt had 10 points, 10 rebounds and six steals in Southern Maine's win over KSC. Shooting 5-for-10 from the field, the 5-4 Luckhardt established a career-high with her 10 rebounds, which included five offensive boards. Luckhardt's six steals matched her season-high total. Luckhardt is averaging 8.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 3.5 steals per game, and is shooting 45.1 percent from the field.
Southern Maine returns to action on Thursday (5:30 p.m.) against Eastern Connecticut State in a Little East Conference game.
