Huskies Travel to New England College on Wednesday
GORHAM, Maine -- The Little East Conference announced Monday afternoon that University of Southern Maine senior Aliza Jordan (Gorham, Maine) and freshman Lindsey Keenan (Naples, Maine/Lake Region) are among the recipients for weekly honors in women's lacrosse for the week of April 1-7.
Jordan was picked as the Offensive Player of the Week, and Keenan was tabbed as the Rookie of the Week. This is the first weekly honor this season for both players.
In a 1-1 week for the Huskies, Jordan tallied 13 points on seven goals and six assists to go along with seven ground balls, nine draw controls and four caused turnovers. Jordan had four goals and four assists for an eight-point game in the Huskies' one-goal loss to Wellesley College during the week. On the weekend, she scored three goals, including the game-winning tally with 22 seconds remaining in regulation time, and passed out two assists in the Huskies' 13-12 win at Castleton.
Keenan had a career-high seven points in the game with Wellesley, scoring three times and dishing off four assists. Against Castleton, the rookie attack had two goals and one assist.
After eight games, Jordan leads the Huskies in scoring with 25 goals and 15 assists for 40 points. She has scooped up 20 ground balls, has 34 draw controls, and 10 caused turnovers. Keenan is second in scoring with 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points.
The Huskies, 4-4 overall and 2-0 in LEC play, are scheduled to play their final non-conference game of the season on Wednesday (4 p.m.) at New England College.
