GORHAM, Maine  –  Junior Ally Little (Stoneham, Mass.) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's soccer team has been named the Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending September 10, 2017.

The weekly accolade is the first of Little's career, and marks the first time since Katherin Hunziker earned the honor in September 2015 that a USM women's soccer player was named the LEC's Offensive Player of the Week.

Little was outstanding in USM's 4-0 road win at Dean College on Saturday.  Little scored two goals and assisted on a third to propel Southern Maine to its second win in three games to start the 2017 season. Little's goal in the 19th minute proved to be the game-winner, and marked her first goal of the season and first game-winning goal of her career.  Little doubled the Huskies' advantage seven minutes into the second half scoring an unassisted goal, and then essentially sealed the Huskies' victory assisting on USM's third goal of the game in the 53rd minute.

A 2015-2016 William B. Wise Scholar Athlete, and a 2016 LEC Fall All-Academic Team honoree, Little is an Athletic Training major.  Three games into the 2017 season, Little has played in 28 career games for Southern Maine, and has six goals and one assist for 13 points.

Southern Maine (2-1) hits the road for its next contest and will play Salem State on Tuesday (4:00 p.m.) in non-conference action.
